Lady Georgia’ daylily stands tall in the early to mid summer garden with a luscious 5″ peach bloom. This daylily is stately and composed and a lovely addition you never knew you needed.
As an early to mid season bloomer, we begin to see the elegant blooms of Lady Georgia around early- or mid-May. Nice rebloom means you get to see these beauties off and on throughout the season.
Lady Georgia is a semi-evergreen daylily. The peachy coolness of Lady Georgia's bloom helps ease the heat of the summer garden. Try it with soothing lavender and juicy tangerine daylilies to increase the cool factor, or plant it with bright orange, scorching hot pink, bold gold and searing red to up add extra sizzle.
Daylilies are an excellent choice for southeast Texas gardens, offering a wide variety of colors and bloom times. They thrive in our climate, tolerating heat and drought once established. To grow daylilies successfully, consider planting them in full sun or partial shade (4-6 hours of sun per day). They also need well-drained soil and prefer consistent moisture.
Walker County Master Gardeners are volunteers committed to education and outreach on a wide variety of horticultural subjects. Our association was founded in 2001 and is part of the Texas Master Gardeners Association.
WALKER COUNTY MASTER GARDENERS
TX A&M Agri-Life Extension
Master Gardeners are members of the local community who take an active interest in their lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers and gardens. They are enthusiastic, willing to learn and to help others, and able to communicate with diverse groups of people.
What really sets Master Gardeners apart from other home gardeners is their special training in horticulture. In exchange for their training, persons who become Master Gardeners contribute time as volunteers, working through their cooperative Extension office to provide horticultural information and education back to their communities. If you are interested in becoming an Extension Master Gardener, contact your AgriLife Extension office.
