Aloe ‘White Fox’ is a small, clumping hybrid aloe with thick green leaves heavily marked or flecked with white. It may produce tall spikes of yellow, orange, or salmon-colored tubular flowers and readily forms offsets around the mother plant.

| Care factor | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Sun | Bright light to full sun; light afternoon shade is helpful in very hot climates. Acclimate it gradually to strong direct sun to prevent leaf scorch. |
| Water | Use very porous, well-draining cactus/succulent soil. Water thoroughly, then wait until the soil has dried completely before watering again. Water less in winter; never let the pot sit in water. |
| Mature size | Approximately 3–6 inches tall and 6–12 inches wide, though a colony can become wider as offsets develop. |
| Frost tolerance | Best treated as a frost-tender succulent. It is generally listed for USDA Zones 9b–12 and may tolerate a brief light frost when dry, but protect it from freezing temperatures and extended cold. Bring a container indoors before frost. |
For outdoor planting, give it excellent drainage and keep it sheltered from prolonged rain and hard freezes. In colder areas, grow it in a container so it can be moved indoors.
Walker County Master Gardeners are volunteers committed to education and outreach on a wide variety of horticultural subjects. Our association was founded in 2001 and is part of the Texas Master Gardeners Association.
WALKER COUNTY MASTER GARDENERS
TX A&M Agri-Life Extension
Master Gardeners are members of the local community who take an active interest in their lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers and gardens. They are enthusiastic, willing to learn and to help others, and able to communicate with diverse groups of people.
What really sets Master Gardeners apart from other home gardeners is their special training in horticulture. In exchange for their training, persons who become Master Gardeners contribute time as volunteers, working through their cooperative Extension office to provide horticultural information and education back to their communities. If you are interested in becoming an Extension Master Gardener, contact your AgriLife Extension office.
